From Thursday, March 29 to Sunday, April 1, the 1st IBERICA DANCESPORT – CAMBRILS 2018 took place, organized by ANADA EVENTS and with the main sponsor ABRAHAM MARTÍNEZ.
In the beautiful fishing village of Cambrils, once again an international Dancesport event has taken place that has brought together hundreds of Dancesport international couples: on this occasion the I IBÉRICA DANCESPORT, born with the strong conviction of becoming an international event of the first magnitude.
I Iberica Dancesport 2018 has been held in Cambrils, a city known throughout the world, for having hosted, for more than ten years, international competitions of higher rank and category of the World Dancesport Federation (WDSF) with the support of the Spanish Federation of Dancesport (FEBD).
There were many international couples of great renown that attended, such as the TOP TEN Anton Skuratov / Alena Uehlin – Germany, Evgeny Nikitin / Anastasia Miliutina – Russian Federation of STANDARD, and the TOP TEN of LATINOS. The long weekend that coincided with Spanish Holy Week, offered a great weather except on Friday, which blew a veritable gale.
In the Sports Pavilion of Cambrils has developed the sporting event in its 2 independent rooms, broadcast for everyone by RTVE in its screening mode on Saturday afternoon and Sunday. They highlighted the WDSF WORLD OPEN STANDARD and LATIN competitions in the highest category of Adults.
In the WDSF WORLD OPEN STANDARD. 61 Top International couples have arrived from: Italy, Czech Republic, Russian Federation, Iceland, Australia, Israel, Ireland, France, Denmark, Estonia, Slovakia, Germany, Vietnam, China, Poland, United Kingdom, Romania, Portugal, Lithuania , Canada and Mexico. The international couples Anton Skuratov / Alena Uehlin – Germany (position 7 of the WDSF Ranking), Evgeny Nikitin / Anastasia Miliutina – Russian Federation (position 9 of the WDSF Ranking), Dariusz Mycka / Madara, stood out a priori. The final was very competitive, prevailing the German couple Anton Skuratov / Alena Uehlin, highlighting the performance of the couple Dmitri Kolobov / Signe Busk Denmark of Denmark who climbed the podium staying above other couples with better Ranking. The Standard Final took place on the afternoon of Sunday, April 1.

Cambrils is a resort town with historical roots based in fishing and farming that have shaped its people’s warm and welcoming character.
Cambrils is one of the main tourist destinations in Catalonia and is certified as a Family Destination by the Catalan Agency of Tourism. Moreover, it is regarded as the gastronomic capital of the Costa Daurada, thanks to more than 150 restaurants which have received numerous distinctions and awards and Michelin stars.
Cambrils is located at the heart of the Costa Daurada region, one of Catalonia’s most thriving holiday destinations. It is conveniently close to two international airports: the Reus airport, which is just 12 km away, and the Barcelona airport, which lies 100 km to the north. It is also quite near the Camp de Tarragona high-speed train station.
Cambrils, which lies on the coast, is linked to the inland towns by rail and coach. The short distances between the town and several cities and sites of interest, such as the ancient Roman ruins of Tarragona, the Modernist architecture of Reus, Salou and La Pineda, El Priorat or different Cistercian monasteries, make Cambrils the ideal starting point for multiple round-trip routes intended to acquaint visitors with the region’s rich sightseeing offer.
The proximity of the PortAventura theme park, just 10 km away, is another of our most popular draws.
Cambrils’ star products are its gastronomy and beaches. Traditional and author cuisine, prime-quality ingredients, the Mediterranean diet, the Mediterranean Sea and a mild climate all year round, make Cambrils the ideal destination for family and gastronomic holidays.
What to see: the return of the fishing fleet to port is a real treat for the five senses. The old part of the town, which has conserved all its charm. Nine kilometres of coastline and beaches you can take in on foot or by bike, because Cambrils is also a Sports Tourism Destination.
The quality of the local fresh produce, combined with the expertise of the best chefs, have made Cambrils the Costa Daurada’s gastronomic capital. Proof of this are its two Michelin-starred restaurants, unique on the Costa Daurada. Quality eating, shopping and holidays. Quite an experience!
